1. SCOPE
To be developed with specific project details incorporated here.
2. OBJECTIVES
One of the main duties placed on the principal contractor is to ensure that a pre‐tender stage Health and
Safety Environmental (HSE) plan is prepared before arrangements are made to carry out or manage
construction work. Sama Global's HSE Plan is aimed to improve the overall management and co‐ordination
of health, safety and welfare throughout construction projects to reduce the large numbers of serious and
fatal accidents and cases of ill health which occur every year in the construction industry. Our HSE Plan
places duties on all those who can contribute to the health and safety of a construction project, including
but not limited to clients, designers, and contractors.

3. DEFINITIONS, TERMS, AND ABBREVIATIONS
Please refer to the Acronym List after the Table of Contents.
Sama Global or Company – Sama Global, and its respective affiliated companies, subsidiaries and divisions.
Client – Any third party under contract with Sama Global upon whose premises the work may be performed
or for whom subcontractor may provide any work hereunder.
HSE or Safety – Health, Safety and Environment.
Guidelines – Sama Global Health, Safety and Environmental Guidelines document together will all exhibits,
attachments and documents referenced herein
Site – Location where the work or services are to be performed.
Governmental regulations/standards etc. – Use of U.S. OSHA, ISO standards shall be considered minimum
requirements unless local standards are stricter or the contract requires the use of local or other defined
standards.
Competent Person – An individual who by way of training and/or experience, is knowledgeable of applicable
standards, is capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards in the surroundings or working
conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous, or dangerous to all personnel, is designated by the employer, and
has authorization to take prompt corrective measure to eliminate them.
4. POLICIES
4.1 Company HSE Policy
It is policy of Sama Global to carry out all its work in a way that provides healthy and safe working practices
and avoids risks of injury to anyone as a result of the activity for which the company is responsible. The
overall responsibility for Health, Safety & Environment rests at the highest level, however, all individual
employees have important responsibility towards HSE and must participate in carrying out the policy.
Appropriate training, supervision and information are provided to encourage and enable to carry out their
duties safely. Regular inspection and monitoring of the activities is undertaken and accidents or incidents
are investigated promptly so that appropriate action is taken to prevent from reoccurrence. Unsafe work
