11.1 Philosophy and Performance Principles
Sama Global believes HSE can no longer be viewed as a priority that can be ranked in a vertical order of
importance but must be looked upon as a value that is inherent in every part of our operation. Further,
Sama Global believes that the most important assets are the people who perform the work and nothing is
more important than providing a safe and healthy environment in which to work.
The only acceptable level of performance is to be 'Incident Free" on all of our worksites each and every day.
Sama Global believes that such performance is achievable with full commitment and diligent effort by each
and every person employed on the project.

Creation of an "Incident Free" environment requires a thorough understanding and complete acceptance of
the following principles:
Employee safety and health, as well as protection of the environment, must be viewed as foremost
values we hold and adhere to in every facet of our operation.
HSE leadership creating an 'Incident Free" business unit must exist independent of individual
personalities or single objective.
Only projects free from incidents and the resulting injuries or environmental damage can be
expected to be consistently productive and profitable. The only acceptable performance is "Incident
Free”
Each and every employee, regardless of position, must accept and wholeheartedly execute their
responsibility for HSE.
Through proper training, planning and compliance with state of the art
HSE processes and practices, risks of accidents can be minimized.
With proper planning and foresight, project hazards can be minimized before an accident /incident
can occur.
Sama Global will maintain a prevention‐based process for HSE that results in the company being the
recognized leader in the safe engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of plants/facilities for all
clients. Sama Global recognizes its responsibility for promoting the highest standards of HSE and is
committed to developing and maintaining appropriate systems, procedures and plans to achieve the mission
and objectives in these guidelines. Specifically, Sama Global is committed to the following objectives:
To continually reduce risks of accidents, injuries, Illnesses and environment incidents with the goal
of being incident and injury free and set meaningful HSE performance target that are measurable
and monitor progress against these goals for continuous improvement
To be a recognized leader in HSE performance, both in our work place, in plant design, by our
clients, the general public and applicable government agencies,
To encourage a sense of public spiritedness with regard to the environment, in our employees,
clients and suppliers.
Sama Global will comply with all applicable HSE policies and regulations and will manage environmental
performance in an appropriate manner similar to our health and safety performance. To ensure employee
HSE performance in all areas of operations and management at every level is committed to the following
objectives:
Provide sufficient resources and training, ensuring a high level of HSE performance and to foster HSE
awareness and responsibility.
