11.8 HSE Training
Site supervisor shall ensure that HSE training is carried out before personnel start work and continues
throughout all phases of the work. Examples of required training are Hazard Communication, Lockout of
Hazardous Energy, and Confined Space. Training shall be provided to ensure that all personnel are capable
of safely using tools and equipment, and are competent at performing assigned tasks. They shall inform
each employee of his/her responsibility to work safely and minimize risks of occupational injury/illness.
11.8.1 Safety Meetings
Site Supervisor shall provide weekly Safety meetings for its entire personnel. As a minimum the Safety
Meeting shall be 15‐minutes and address hazards associated with the current work being performed.
Meeting attendance shall be documented and furnished to Sama Global HSE.

11.9 Personal Protective Equipment
The following items of Personal Protective Equipment are to be provided by the site supervisor for their
employees. All Personal Protective Equipment is subject to approval by Sama Global HSE Dept.
11.9.1 Eye and Face Protection
Safety glasses (both prescription and non‐prescription) with attached rigid tide shields shall be worn
while on the worksite. Safety glasses shall conform to ANSI standard Z87.1 or other suitable as a
minimum for all components (frames, lenses, and side shields). Flexible slip on side shields is not
acceptable for use.
Clear lenses only shall be worn inside buildings or in low light conditions.
Face shield and mono‐goggles shall be worn any time an employee is performing any tasks creating
flying particles, such as, but not limited to, grinding, chipping, sawing, scraping or buffing.
Face shield and welding visors shall be of the type, which attach to the hardhat. Welding or grinding
without a hardhat is not permitted.
Goggles shall be worn whenever there is a splash or vapor hazard to the eyes from chemicals or
vapors, while working with tools or equipment that produce dust or flying particles, or whenever
working in dusty conditions.
Contact lenses may be prohibited in field or shop work areas by the client
11.9.2 Head Protection
Dielectric (non‐metal) hard hats shall be worn when overhead or flying debris hazards exists. Hard
hats shall be worn with the bill facing forward. Hard hats shall be worn when utilizing face shields,
welding hoods, burning goggles, etc. Hard hats shall be worn when an employee is below any type
of work being done at elevated levels, or as directed on the jobsite.
11.9.3 Foot and Leg Protection
Personnel performing work while engaging in activities where potential foot hazards exist are
required to wear ANSI Z41 or similar approved footwear. Footwear shall be of all‐leather
construction or approved for the tasks performed. Steel Toe Footwear might be deemed a
requirement on specific Jobsites. Sandals, Athletic or Tennis shoe style footwear is not allowed.
Some job tasks will require the use of foot protectors / metatarsal guards, such as the use of
jackhammers, vibratory compactors, tampers and large impact equipment.
The use of rubber or other chemical‐resistant boots may be required for working in/around
chemicals or wet areas.
